Mayo's dinner #1

Decided to whip up a quick but healthy dinner. Here is my creation of soft shitake mushrooms stir fried with leafy Kai Lan veggies in thick wholesome oyster sauce and enhanced with coarsely chopped garlic bits for added bite. Nothing else but hot white fluffy rice would be best.

I <3 Bangkok

I simply love everything about the land of a thousand smiles. The food, the shopping, the service and did I mention food?

Upon touch-down I wanted a real taste of the local food and headed straight to the
famous Chatuchak Weekend Market.

Phadthai with Thai Ice Tea

I always look forward to the breakfast spread at the hotels that I stay in. This time I was greeted with a decent International breakfast buffet at the Courtyard The Marriott Bangkok - Momo Cafe.

My favourite baked tomatoes. Tomatoes - one of the most powerful natural antioxidants.

After some frantic shopping, I chanced upon this 'foodcourt' like eatery except that the 'stalls' are selling restaurant styled food at affordable prices. You will be given a card upon entry & with this card, you would 'buy' your food & drinks & only settle the payment when you exit the place. The young & friendly service staff assist you in clearing your tray after you have chosen your table & promptly leaves you undisturbed to enjoy your food. Chicken cutlet with river prawn rice that comes with a set of tom yum soup and a bowl of vegetables

I ordered a serving of this Tom yum noodles with a unique creamy soup base and huge river prawns. It was simply love at first bite! Mayo approved. :)

Coffeeshop @ Siam Square selling beef noodle and fishball noodle. Do not let this simple and messy arrangement of noodle soup fool you. It is a must try! The dark peppery beef broth coupled with a handful of bee hoon, bean sprouts, spring onion with springy textured beef balls make an awesome "pick me up" meal. You will be tempted to order at least 2 bowls per person.

Did more shopping Central World Plaza and completely forgot the time. When my stomach finally when on strike we settled our late lunch at The Manhattan Fish Market @ Central World Plaza, 7th floor. We ordered the Manhattan Seafood Platter for 2 and we were in awe of what was to come. The softest deep fried fish fillet, tangy calamari, juicy oysters, huge flame grilled river prawns served on a bed of crispy fries & hot buttery garlic rice. I honestly do not know if it was because we were starving but we cleaned out the entire serving pan in 10 mins tops! Walked out feeling totally satisfied and happy.

After a late night massage which seems to have completely digested my dinner. We came across this roadside stall, outside Siam Square near the street to Novotel hotel (opposite Siam Paragon) which was packed with both tourists and locals at 12am. The stall had only 1 food to offer which was meatballs of various meats cooked together with thai vemicelli in a extremely spicy broth. All these for just 40Baht.

Discovered a 'underwater world' foodcourt where diners are surrounded by beautiful large fish tanks. They even serve sharks fin there. It's located at the Food hall @ basement of Siam Paragon.
Spotted this guy look like Hong Ki from FT Island (Korean boyband)
